The British Association of Landscape Industries, is established to promote, support and inspire all professional landscapers, garden designers and landscape suppliers to be leaders of an environmentally, ethically and commercially sustainable landscape industry.
CHAS
The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. CHAS assesses applicants:
- Health and safety policy statement;
- Their organisation for health and safety;
- Their specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to our buyers and to others.
Constructionline
Constructionline is the UK’s leading procurement and supply chain management service that collects, assesses and monitors standard company information through a question set that is aligned to PAS 91, the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by BSI to reduce duplication within the construction industry.
CSCS
CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.
CPCS
CPCS is recognised by the UK Contractors Group (UKCG) and Major Home Builders Group (MHBG), amongst others, as the preferred card to comply with codes of practice for competence and certification. It was launched in 2003 at the request of employers, to help them comply with regulations and requirements, and aims to apply common standards for all plant operators. CPCS covers a large range of plant and plant-related categories, and more are continually added.
SMSTS certificates
Site Management Safety Training Scheme. This is a five-day course which provides project managers, site managers and supervisors, business proprietors and client-based personnel with the knowledge and skills to enable them to ensure healthy and safe conditions for construction site employees.
SSSTS certificates
Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme. This two-day course introduces Site Supervisors to their legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues
Safecontractor
Safecontractor was initially developed as a bespoke project for a Property Management client, who wished to outsource the annual vetting of contractors on its approved list. Interest shown by other similar clients identified the potential for a standardised system that could be offered to the whole of the company’s client base.
